For me, the best thing ever invented. I can sit anywhere with my laptop and my mouse is by my side; it works on any surface; no more hand cramps from using my touch-pad laptop mouse. Its comfortable, even if you have large hands. It's much easier to edit long research papers on my laptop; this mouse is very precise in placement and easy to control.If you are still using optical you don't know what you are missing.
I really like the feel of this mouse, particularly the scroll wheel. Precision is very good. The size is just right. The wireless functionality works well and the wireless receiver can be stored inside the mouse. Reasonable price. It's a good value.
When you roll the wheel up or down, it should move.I honestly feel that this mouse has such horrible performance because of the transmitter. it doesn't move smoothly at all.
I have small sized hands and my finger tips hang almost a half inch off the front end of the mouse. The weight feels like it's distributed incorrectly, probably because of the two AA batteries being placed in the back of mouse instead of in the middle (as my last mouse was like).
I was given this mouse as a replacement to my Logitech LX7 Cordless Mouse (which finally died after 4 amazing years of use) for use on a desktop.The size is too small. I tried enabling the "smart" mode but it didn't fix my problem so now, I have problems more often than one should when I try to click on something.
Also, the transmitter is too far away, even tho I'm only 2-3 feet away from the front usb port I plugged it into.I installed the drivers but it was still zipping all over the place and cutting out, or lagging. I changed the options as low as they can go for speed and it seemed just right, but it still would lag or drop out.
Also, the wheel doesn't seem to be very responsive half the time. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone for desktop use and I'm about ready to just plug in a crappy corded one so I can get a more tolerable form of smooth functionality and performance.
Comes with a 3 year warranty and battery life is reported to be much longer than the Microsoft's (it takes 2 AA's). So time to move on and stopped at Logitech's V450 cordless Laser Mouse here at Amazon. After using the Microsoft Notebook Optical 3000 for over 2 years, the left button which we all use most began to just stop working. Also the battery warning LED is a nice feature so when you should replace the batteries, you won't get a surprise when your mouse doesn't work. Reviews looked good and since this is used for a desktop and not a notebook, decided to try it out. Totally impressed with its comfort, precision, size (slightly larger than the Microsoft), and the left-right scroll wheel (which your suppose to load the CD to use this feature). Hands down, this mouse is a keeper. Pounce on it.
I bought this mouse for my dad for christmas. He uses it on his desktop PC and loves. It was very easy to hook up and works great.
